How do I add the prayer times widget of the Tanzil app to my home screen?

In shortGo to Settings → Prayer times and use Home screen widgets at the bottom. The Prayer tab may also offer Add a widget on a card under the top.

Steps

1. Set up prayer times first (see the related page).
2. On Android, open Home screen widgets and tap one: Current and next prayer, Prayer countdown or Prayer times. Your launcher asks you to confirm. If it cannot, long-press the home screen and find Tanzil among the widgets.
3. On iPhone, long-press the home screen, tap “Edit”, then “Add Widget” and find Tanzil. For the lock screen use “Customize”.

Good to know

• The card on the Prayer tab (Prayer times on your home screen) appears once, only if no Tanzil widget is placed yet. It is gone for good once you close it or add a widget. If a method card is waiting, that is shown first.
• Android widgets can be resized and show a live countdown. An optional notification can show the same countdown.
• On iPhone widgets need iOS 16. The widget has no background refresh: it is renewed whenever you open the app, and asks you to open it after a week.
• Tapping a widget opens the Prayer tab. Widgets use your calculation method and adjustments.
