How do I set up prayer times in the Tanzil app?

In shortOpen the Prayer tab and follow two steps: notifications, then location. Times are calculated on your device, and the method is picked for the place you are in.

Steps

1. Open the Prayer tab. Tap Enable notifications and allow them (on Android also allow exact alarms).
2. Tap Set under Location and allow it. Your location is never sent anywhere.
3. The five obligatory prayers get notifications automatically. To change them open the bell next to a prayer, or go to Settings → Prayer times → Notification settings.
4. To see or change how times are calculated, go to Settings → Prayer times → Calculations. See the related pages on the calculation method and on adjusting times.

Good to know

• On a new install the calculation method is Automatic: the app finds the country or region from your location, on the phone, when you open the Prayer tab, and uses the method of that place.
• Each prayer can be off, silent, vibrate (Android), a system notification, or a sound. Sound offers adhan voices, each with a preview. On Android, Timing can be exactly on time or battery saving, and an optional countdown can show on the lock screen.
• There is no manual city entry: Tanzil uses your phone's location.
• Prayer settings are kept on each device; they are not synced.
