How do I get word-by-word translation in the Tanzil app?
In shortSwitch on WBW translation in Reading settings. If you have not chosen a language yet, the app opens the list so you can download one.
Steps
- In the reader open Reading settings (or Settings → Quran).
- Switch to Ayah list mode: word-by-word translation shows only there.
- Under Text and size switch on WBW translation. If Not selected is shown, choose a language from Translations and download it.
- Adjust its size with WBW font size under the Aa icon.
Good to know
- Arabic must be on. A language is a one-time download; the app asks before using mobile data.
- A downloaded language is updated by the app itself when a newer version is available. If an update fails, your current one stays.
- Where a phrase is translated as one, the meaning sits under both of its words.
